Current volunteer sea staff availability onboard our vessels

Port Support: Throughout the sailing season our vessels come into various ports around Scotland, to attend to maintenance and change crews. While in port our staff are extremely busy getting the boats ready for the next voyage. There are only a few hours to get everything done, including getting provisions onboard. It can also be an expensive time, getting taxi's etc as we don't always have our vehicles at the ports. There are many tasks you may be able to help with, to lighten the load. -Tasks include: collecting gas bottles, fuel, spare parts, food shopping, washing and drying tea towels, light maintenance; of course cakes are always a welcome motivator!

Main Ports include: Victoria Harbour- Greenock, Kererra Marina- Oban Bay and Muirtown Basin, Inverness.

Visit the Operations section and view our latest sea staff availability program. You will see the day's crew join and finish and also the maintenance weekends. We are looking for help mainly on Sunday afternoons and Monday mornings. If you are free on these dates, please contact the skippers directly on: Alba Venturer: 07881917739 Alba Endeavour: 07799348937 Alba Explorer: 07766207312

Drivers wanted: Throughout the year, there are many parts that need picking up and dropping off to the boats and various locations around Scotland. In addition to this staff often need to swap ports for example Oban to Greenock. If you are available for such deliveries, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The plan is to get the names and contact of drivers and then email them once an opportunity arises. Please note: Fuel costs will be reimbursed.

Office Help required: The sailing season is upon us again. The office is a hive of activity getting the paperwork ready for voyages, organising sea staff for voyages, taking bookings for next year and organising the Tall Ships event in July (just to mention a few). Can you spare a couple of hours a week to come in and help at our office in Greenock? Tasks include data input, filing, internet research and typing.

A couple of hours can make a real difference to the workload. If you can't make it to the office, we can send some projects to you and you can complete them from the comfort of your own home. Anyone looking to add office skills/ work experience to their C.V this is an ideal opportunity. Previous office experience would be advantageous, but don't worry no matter what your skills are we will put them to use. If you are free to help anytime between 9-5 Monday to Friday, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
