Fleet Development Committee

This committee sits when the board of directors would like to review the existing vessels and any new vessels owned by OYT Scotland.

Training Committee

The training committee has three distinct remits:-

Volunteer Mentoring
Local Training Coordination
Volunteer Recruitment

The group meets about twice a year, however lots of additional communication takes place. Much work is needed in this area because the fleet has expanded and so our volunteer staff numbers need to grow, increasing the amount of training needed. A wide geographic spread of committee members is needed to represent sea staff.

Safety Committee
This committee meets bi-monthly to review the Trust’s safety arrangements at event’s, refit’s, office and of course on boats.

All these committees have representation from staff, board of directors, and volunteers. It is essential that volunteers are involved, not only to take some of the workload from the staff, but also to bring their expertise and knowledge.
